Dallas police arrested Victor James Mendoza, who they describe as a a “24-year-old Latin male,” in connection with a burglary and fire near the Alligator Cafe in Casa Linda.
“Thanks to everyone who spread the word,” the police department notes via a press announcement.
You’re welcome. We don’t know for sure if an Advocate reader is responsible for the takedown, but we did share the surveillance video and you did share it profusely on social media, so, yey, everybody.
Mendoza is suspected of causing damage to multiple locally owned businesses including Alligator Cafe and Monster Yogurt (forced to toss a day’s worth of fro yo), not the least of which occurred during a structure fire he is suspected of starting.
Fortunately an Albertson’s employee spotted the smoke before it spread enough to injure or kill.
