There are some things you just don’t tamper with – like golden oldies and great classics. Such is the case with a handful of dishes at Sevy’s Grill that have stood the taste test of time. “We don’t change anything on our menu arbitrarily,” says chef and partner Michael Zeve. “But we are spreading out with some new flavors.” Case in point, a dozen new lunch items, and 15 new dinner items – a few of which are wild game entrees just in time for autumn. There’s now a five-spice duck salad on the lunch menu, and a venison medallion with quail wrapped in smoked bacon on the dinner menu. The venison, which comes from New Zealand, is prepared with a southwest flair in a chipotle raspberry sauce. “The chipotle gives a smoky flavor, and the raspberry gives a sweetness. Plus it’s served with jalapeno grits, so there’s a creaminess with a little kick.” Pair that with a hearty cabernet or shiraz out on the patio during a crisp eve, and you’ve got yourself the quintessential autumn dinner.
