Dominating the district

Sophomore Mackenzie Fugate shows off her Newcomer of the Year award as part of the Wildcat volleyball team’s all-district. Senior Matalee Reed was District 9-5A MVP. First-year coach Shelly Massey was named Coach of the Year. Senior Katie Sefko was recognized as Outstanding Defender, and sophomore Morgan Reed was named Outstanding Setter. Bonnie Vernon and Megan Garcia were named First Team All-District. Katie Bott, Bailey Ballinger and Caroline Thomas earned spots on the All-District Second Team. Honorable mention went to Jamie Crawford, Anna Ogden, Annie Parkin and Bethany VanMeter.

Reading (the Advocate) is cool

Four-year-old James Zsohar of White Rock Valley is engrossed in his Advocate. While running errands with his mother, Maria Zsohar, James informed her that instead of going into the grocery store, “I want to stay in the cah and weed my magazine.”
