This ain’t Vegas baby! This night at the casino is a guaranteed win.

The Exchange Club Lake Highlands has set the annual Casino Party for April 2 at Park Lane Ranch. The evening will include casino classics, bingo, an auction featuring fab prizes including vacations and tickets to sporting events. (Here at the Advocate, we usually get photos from this yearly party and they always make me smile because the attendees always look like they are having a really good time.)

“Having dinner with friends and supporting the Lake Highlands neighborhood is the objective for the Casino Party,” says Evan Luck, Exchange Club VP. Which brings us to the main point: this event raises funds for the countless good deeds done every year through the ECLH. My favorite is the scholarships for graduating high school seniors. The ECLH is meticulous about vetting students for the scholarships and they manage to send some amazing kids — many who have struggled through their early lives — to college. Last year, the ECLH presented $100,000 to 46 students. That is what I call investing in the neighborhood, and in the world for that matter.

In addition to scholarships, President Tommy Bailey says, Exchange Club projects include child abuse prevention, the Fourth of July Parade, the Lake Highlands Hero’s Poster, Teacher of the Year, Jazz Under the Stars, hot dogs at the Red and White game, as well as supporting area elementary schools and many neighborhood charities.

Tickets for night are $60 including dinner and entertainment and can be obtained from Exchange Club Members or at the door.

Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. followed by gaming and the auction.
