What was the mysterious object hovering over LBJ Tuesday night?
I saw a UFO yesterday. Bear in mind, a UFO is simply an Unidentified Flying Object and that’s what it was. It was over Skillman and LBJ just before 7 p.m. At first I thought it was a crow or some other dark-colored bird. But then I saw that it was not flying but sort of floating. I then thought, “dead bird falling from the sky?” But no, it was hovering, and then I told my son to take his headphones from his ears and look at it with me.
We both thought the movement was weird. It looked kind of like a piece of trash, maybe a plastic bag that got caught in the wind — dark brown/charcoal/black colored with random holes or pocks and flat/shapeless — but it moved with more purpose than a floating piece of trash. It was, at first, hovering just above the cars on Skillman. A moment later, as it rose speedily over LBJ, we agreed it was a (sad-looking) kite, but we searched for a source, or a string, and there was none. Soon it moved more quickly east and then upward and within a few seconds it was a speck and then it disappeared altogether.
It happened quickly and by the time I thought of grabbing my camera it was too late.
I wanted to get this description, while fresh in my mind, in writing in the hopes that Agent Mulder might come calling, and also in case someone else saw it or knows what it might have been.
