Lake Highlands was back on track last night, passing the ball with skill and finding the back of the net. Six different players earned points for the Cats – Emmet Kumeh and Joel Mendoza both had hat tricks – and senior keeper Jeffrey Brooks was back to defend the goal after breaking his wrist in practice before the season began.

Joel Mendoza led the scoring drive after receiving a nice pass from Reagan Dunk, but Samuell tied the game 1-1 with a goal of their own. It would be the last time the match was close.

Reagan scored next off a long ball sent by Alexis Cedillo, then Emmet worked against the grain to earn a goal. Joel scored another to finish the half.

Emmet came roaring out of halftime to score again, then Joel put one in off another pass by Alexis (video shown above). Mason Miller crossed a beauty to Dillon MacIntyre (see the video here), and Emmet scored off a pass from Joel (video here). Travis Sowards played cleanup at the net after this corner kick (video here), and this goal by Luis Rios made it an even 10 (video here).
Next up, LHHS plays W. T. White at Loos Friday night at 7 pm. Go Cats!
