Lake Highlands United Methodist Church will combine their annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event with last year’s brainchild, Feed Lake Highlands. The entire LH community is invited to the Wednesday, October 27th event.

Trunk or Treat is a fun evening for all ages where dressing up is encouraged but scary is kept to a minimum. Kids in costume will “trick or treat” by going car-to-car, where volunteers have set up their candy stations in car trunks in the parking lot. They’ll have games, prizes, drawings and treats, and kids can enjoy the bounce house or sign up to win a ride on the K.I.T.T. car from Knight Rider.

Feed Lake Highlands is a neighborhood food drive designed to collect groceries and make a difference in the lives of needy LH residents. Their goal is to collect 1,000 pounds of non-perishable canned and boxed foods, with children learning the joy that comes from giving.

Dinner is at 6 pm and includes a hotdog, chips and dessert. You can pay $3 for your meal or earn it by bringing 5 cans per dinner. Donations of food and/or money will be happily accepted in any quantity, whether you choose to dine at the church or not. Activities follow dinner from 6:30-7:30 pm.
