Dallas’ Office of Cultural Affairs is commissioning $28,000 worth of art for the Lake Highlands Town Center.

Professional artists “are invited to submit qualifications for consideration to create a site-specific artwork for Lake Highlands Town Center, a newly developed community at the northeast and southeast corners of Skillman Street and Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas,” (juuust in case you didn’t know where the Lake Highlands Town Center is going to be), according to the official Request for Qualifications”.

Deadline for submissions is August 13.

According to the description, artwork will be placed in three high-profile areas: Amphitheater, Whistle Stop Place (point of access connects the sidewalk from DART light rail station to the hike and bike trail), and South lawn (the point of access that connects to the large south lawn where residents will have access to picnics, kite flying, Frisbee toss, and games of tag).
