Once again, Richardson ISD has been named a Recognized district by the Texas Education Agency. “RISD is the largest, most diverse district in Texas to have achieved Recognized status for five consecutive years,” according to the district’s email blast. “Every RISD campus received a rating of Exemplary (42 schools) or Recognized (11 schools).”

LH schools fared well, with LHHS, LHFC, LHJH and Forest Meadow JH all earning Recognized ratings. Only three elementaries in RISD did not earn the top rating of Exemplary, and those were all in LH – Thurgood Marshall, Wallace and Forest Lane Academy. Each was named Recognized.

“I extend sincere congratulations and gratitude to our teachers, students and staff, whose commitment, hard work and talent have spurred RISD’s continued academic growth,” said Superintendent Dr. Kay Waggoner. “I thank our Council of PTAs, volunteers, taxpayers and community partners for their ongoing support. Successful public schools are an important part of any strong community, and the children of our district benefit from and appreciate the passionate efforts of the thousands of people who support them.”
