School teacher Mary Oliver, one of three runners hit by a car last Nov. 1 at the Dallas Running Club Half Marathon, is preparing to run the event again this year.

Oliver sustained two broken legs and a broken arm when a driver lost control of her car near the base of Flagpole hill, running over the three runners who had just completed the race.

Oliver, who teaches at Travis, will get an extra boost during the 13.1 mile race — no less than 20 of her students and former students will work one of the water stations and cheer her on.

Thanks to reader Lisa Rubenstein, whose son will work the event, for letting us know about this.
