As neighborhood volunteer and LH legend Paula Davis says, “It’s never too early to make plans for Christmas or pray for good weather for the home tour!”
Paula and the entire executive board of Lake Highlands Women’s League hosted a planning lunch this week to discuss the upcoming year and coordinate details of their annual “Holiday in the Highlands” home tour and market. Funds will be used for community projects and to give scholarships to LHHS seniors graduating in 2010. 2009 recipients will be honored at a reception Friday, May 22.
In addition to hosting the tour, the group donates hundreds of hours per year in neighborhood schools, shelters, and retirement homes, and they bake cookies for local firemen and police. Which LH homes will be open on tour is still top secret, so stay tuned for that big reveal. Donna Mason will be the incoming League president, with Anna Dean and Debbie Johnson serving as home tour chairmen. Home tour is always the first Friday in December, so mark your calendar now for December 4, 2009.
