Lake Highlands students involved in the Academic state meet and one-act play competition, the wind ensemble festival, regional track meet, the state golf and tennis tournaments, and baseball and softball games won’t be playing or participating in those events until at least May 11. Some have been cancelled.

The University Interscholastic League, which sanctions all high school events in the state, has postponed all UIL student competition for the next twoi weeks, citing the swine flue outbreak.

Specifically, the Lake Highlands baseball and softball teams won’t play Friday. The girls were scheduled to play their first playoff game against South Garland, while the boys had senior recognition scheduled for their final game.
