“Coach Christman coaches the Skyline Juniors Volleyball Club 16 Molten team,” LH Student Council president and senior volleyball team member, Lauren Strubeck, told me. “Molten is their top team, and she has a great reputation.” Added junior standout Caroline Henton: "I’m really excited. She’s very smart about the game, and she’s young, so I think the team will bond with her.”

My niece from Highland Park isn’t so fired up. “I’m so sad she’s leaving us,” said HP junior Abby Carroll, who started at Libero in the 4A state finals and semis for the Scots. “We’ve been a little teary since she told us yesterday, but it is a big honor for her to come coach at Lake Highlands. Y’all should be excited – she is definitely head coach material. If she has to leave, we all want her to go to a strong team with great potential and girls who work hard. Girls like us. Lake Highlands has that.”
