My sources at the Dallas Arboretum tell me that this is the prime week for admiring the cherry blossoms in full bloom — as long as Mother Nature and all her wind and rain aren’t wreaking too much havoc.

Plus, if you haven’t yet taken your children to explore the new storybook playhouses exhibit, I can’t imagine a better time of year to do so. Our video shows some of the initial construction of these playhouses, but you should really check them out in person, and from a child’s perspective. My guess is 3- to 6-year-olds are pretty much the perfect age to enjoy them, but children a couple of years younger or older would get quite a kick out of them, too.

My personal favorite was "Hope for the Flowers", mostly because it’s a little-known book with big heart.
