Friday Nov. 7, Mockingbird Station launches Hot Holiday Happenings live-music nights. From 5 to 7 p.m., catch Watching Cars, a Texas duo that plays a unique blend of homespun roots and understated pop. The Haz Benz (), which combine classic Rock & Roll sounds with "good ole boogie blues”, play from 7 to 9 p.m Surrounding restaurants and bars including Margarita Ranch, Urban Taco and Rockfish will host happy hours during concerts.

The annual Dallas Video Festival starts tonight and runs through Sunday. This will be a catchall of documentaries, animations, and digital features. All the screenings will be at the Angelika, and you can get your tickets online.
