Steve Blow’s column in today’s Dallas Morning News is a good one. He calls tolling Mockingbird Lane to keep the unwashed non-Parkies out "galling" and "un-American." Perhaps. But aren’t we in LH making it worse? We drive through Lake Highlands to spend our hard-earned dollars at The Polo Shop, we catch a flick at the Highland Park Village movie theater, we dine at Cafe Pacific, and we have coffee at Celebrity Cafe. We take the soccer team to Burger House or Bubba’s instead of Coach’s, and we buy a centerpiece from Dr. Delphinium instead of contracting with LH Floral. Our voices may not be heard in Highland Park’s City Hall, but our dollars are squawking loudly at businesses all over HP. Let’s get those merchants opposing a toll. Let’s stop handing them our unwashed LH cash.
