If you’ve never tried the Enclave restaurant and bar, you’re missing not only a nice (if expensive) meal, but also a pretty cool trip back in time. The restaurant’s a fixture in our neighborhood, celebrating its 30th anniversary at this location in December. But one step in the place, and you’ll feel transported to an even earlier time – back when crooners were king and pinkie-ringed cats snuggled with leggy dames in half-moon booths, baby.

OK, so lots of things have changed since then, thank goodness, including our references toward women and the jewelry preference of men. But the Enclave still keeps some things alive, such as nightly live music and dancing, sophisticated service and those crazy booths, complete with curtains to be drawn if the snuggling heats up (we suppose). Not that the romantic atmosphere is popular only with those seeking privacy. With room to seat up to 200 people, it’s also a popular choice for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners and other group events.
