Since 1981, the Volunteer Center of Dallas County has published Holiday Harvest to help individuals, companies, civic organizations and others find holiday volunteer opportunities.

The 1998 edition of Holiday Harvest lists the holiday volunteer needs of more than 220 nonprofit agencies in Dallas and surrounding counties. For example, the Brady Center serves low-income families and seniors in East Dallas and needs volunteers to teach holiday crafts, organize parties and sort gifts; Family Outreach works to prevent child abuse and needs donations of canned foods, linens and new toys. Holiday Harvest contains requests for volunteers and donations, and includes volunteer/delivery schedules and group opportunities.

You can pick up your free copy of Holiday Harvest at local libraries or send $2 for postage to the Volunteer Center, 1215 Skiles, Dallas 75204.

Holiday Harvest also is available on-line at www.non-profits.org.
