The White Swan Cafe is moving to 6334 LaVista in the restaurant space next to the Lakewood Theatre. Owner Khris Macho says the restaurant moved to take advantage of the patio at the new restaurant space.

Near the middle of December, a second White Swan Cafe will open at 3888 One Turtle Creek Village in Oak Lawn.

The owners say they will reopen the original White Swan location at 2307 Abrams as a steak and seafood restaurant around the beginning of the year.

HOLIDAY PARTY: The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce will not have a December luncheon. Instead there will be a Holiday Open House Dec. 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Savings of America, 6060 E. Mockingbird. BAKERY EXPANDS: The Kozy Kitchen, Inc. has a new location at 10153 Shoreview, off Northwest Highway between Audelia Road and Ferndale. The bakery’s original location, 4536 S. NEW BUSINESS: Liza Orchard and Kristi Leonard have opened Head Bank, a clearinghouse of local freelance copywriters and art directors. Head Bank, which is operated from Leonard’s Lakewood home, matches a business’ temporary creative needs with one of the writers or commercial artists it represents. The business is a cross between a traditional artist representative and a temp agency. The cost of the services is added to the freelance talent fee, Leonard says. For information, call 826-5005.

RESIDENT CHAIRS GROUP: Neighborhood resident Alfred Anderson Jr. recently was installed as chairman of the Security Traders Association, a group of 6,500 international brokerage firms. Anderson has worked in the securities business since 1956 and currently is head of Coastal Securities Limited’s Dallas office.
