The body of Chynal Lindsey, 26, was found Saturday evening in White Rock Lake by a passerby. At a news conference Monday, Police Chief U. Renee Hall said the body had signs of homicidal violence. The specific cause of death has not been released.

“We are concerned, and we are actively and aggressively investigating this case,” Hall said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective King at 214-671-3684 or erica.king@dallascityhall.com.

Discovery of Lindsey’s body comes less than two weeks after another black, trans woman, Muhlaysia Booker, was found fatally shot near the Tenison Park Golf Course, less than a mile from the lake where Lindsey was found.

Dallas police said Monday it was investigating whether there was a connection between Lindsey, Booker and two other attacks on transgender women, one of which was fatal.

The first attack happened in October 2018 when 29-year-old Brittany White was found shot to death in a vehicle in Southeast Dallas. The second attack happened in April when a transgender woman was stabbed multiple times near the intersection of Spring Avenue and Lagow Street in Southeast Dallas.
