As you may already know, Atomic Pie isn’t the only restaurant shuttering in the neighborhood. El Fenix is closing this month after 23 years at Skillman and Audelia.

Now, for some uplifting restaurant news.

Cafe Laziz, which serves Pakistani, Indian and Halal cuisine, opened at 9203 Skillman St. suite 108. The menu features butter chicken curry, chicken tikka, naan and mutton korma, which is goat meat cooked with yogurt and spices. The restaurant is open from noon- 1 a.m. Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-11:45 p.m. Sunday. Oh, and as Hoodline noted, the restaurant has received rave Yelp reviews.

In case you missed it, First Watch Daytime Cafe is coming to the Lake Highlands Town Center. The national chain’s forte is breakfast and heart-healthy lunches. Carol Toler has the scoop here.
