Snooze’s bar

Since Crossroads Diner moved north in January of 2016, Lake Highlands has struggled to find an all-day breakfast joint worthy of crawling out from under the covers.

Enter Snooze, an A.M. Eatery.

Snooze will officially open Sept. 26 near Crossroads’ old home at Walnut Hill and Central Expressway in the center now known as The Hill. The Denver-based chain made their Dallas debut in Addison in June and has seen long lines at locations in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. They tuned up their game in Lake Highlands this weekend at invitation-only charity events for Dallas Parks Foundation, Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation and Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation, so they’ll be ready when they open the doors at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Bar seats make popping into Snooze for a solo bite easy, but if you bring the family, slip into a big round booth in the restaurant’s center. You may have a tough time, though, choosing between Snooze’s Smashed Avocado Benny version of Eggs Benedict, their Ooh La La Fritatta and their Smashin’ Pumpkin Pancakes. Morning cocktails include a Hill Country Mule with grapefruit juice and Kentucky Coffee with bourbon.
