Feed Lake Highlands will host ‘Take a Swing at Hunger’ Monday at Topgolf

Topgolf is one of the fastest growing entertainment concepts in the world, and the Lake Highlands location at Park Lane and Abrams was one Topgolf’s first sites in the nation, built not long after the concept originated in the United Kingdom in 2000. Instead of putting a golf ball into a hole, the idea is to hit micro-chipped golf balls at targets on an outfield. Each shot is measured for accuracy and distance, and even low scorers at the party can win when they belly up to the restaurant and bar.

Haven’t been? You can give it a try Monday as Feed Lake Highlands (FLH) hosts “Take a Swing at Hunger.” Proceeds will go to FLH’s faith-based program to provide food and other assistance to children and families in Lake Highlands. More than 60 percent of students attending LH area schools receive free and reduced-cost lunches, and those kids are sick more frequently and miss school more often. FLH also provides Homework Club, Clothes Closet, summer camps and other aid.

Dinner and beverages are included with your $100 registration (teams of 6 are $540), and you’ll get one practice round, one tournament round and a t-shirt. The party runs from 6-9 p.m. You may register here.
