Boys ride decorated bikes in the parade
The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands didn’t let Caterpillar diggers and chain link fences ruin their fun – they hosted their annual Fourth of July parade as planned despite construction of the city’s Family Aquatic Center on the grounds of the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center.

Grand Marshal Renee Hall, Dallas’ first female police chief, posed for photos with parade-goers, and Exchange Club volunteers passed out free waters to keep attendees cool. And a sea of children in the crowd squealed with delight.
