Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League member hosted their largest crowd ever for the 14th Annual Run the Highlands Saturday, with 868 participants registered for the 10k, 5k and Family Trail Walk, and many more attending to cheer on their friends or enjoy the apres-run carnival.

Funds will be used to build the Signature Play Ground for People of All Ages and Abilities At Flag Pole Hill, enabling parents and children to play together even if traditional playgrounds keep them on the sidelines. Lake Highlands Women’s League, Exchange Club of LH and the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation also are contributing to the playground.
“LHJWL is so grateful and thankful,” said President Bryn Volkmer, for all of our sponsors, talent groups (like LHHS Highlandettes, Cheerleaders, Bell Boys, Steppers, Girls Service League, Merriman Park’s Beta Club & Sparky Spirit Squad, Forest Meadow Cheer and LHJH Cheer), Lake Highlands Women’s League and Exchange Club of Lake Highlands volunteers and the LH community for supporting the playground so generously.”
