Shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday night, a Chevy pickup barreling down Northwest Highway blew through the red light at Lake Highlands Drive, colliding into the driver’s side of a Honda Accord.
The force of the impact pushed the Accord into a Dallas Police cruiser, which was sitting at the red light on Northwest Highway.
The driver of the Accord was taken to Presbyterian Hospital, while the driver of the Chevy was booked into jail for driving while intoxicated. The officer, luckily, was uninjured.
