Santa will bring his reindeer to Light Up the Highlands

Looking for a fun way to kick off your family’s holiday season that doesn’t involve leaving the neighborhood or venturing into a crowded shopping mall? Members of the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League are busy putting the final touches on plans for their 3rd annual Light Up the Highlands – and they’re hoping you’ll add the event to your family’s holiday traditions.

Light Up the Highlands features a visit by Santa and his live reindeer and lots of fun activities including children’s crafts, face-painting elves and cookie decorating. There will be holiday songs by LHHS’ Espree pop choir and free food from In N Out Burger, followed by the evening’s highlight – the lighting of the mega-Christmas tree. Settle in after that with your blanket or lawn chair to enjoy a family holiday movie on the big screen with 1,500 of your closest friends.

Light Up the Highlands will be held Sunday, Nov. 26 (the Sunday after Thanksgiving) at the LH Recreation Center Park and admission is free. The fun kicks off at 4 p.m. and the tree-lighting takes place at 5:50. The tree will be lit each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. until mid-January.
