Do not attempt to break into homes in Lake Highlands. For the second time this year, a homeowner pulled out a firearm to protect their property from suspected robbers, leaving the intruder in need of a hospital.

The latest incident took place around 5 a.m. this morning, when a man in the 9500 block of Moss Farm Lane heard a knock at his door. The man at the door said he was at the wrong house, apologized and started to walk away, Fox 4 reports. But the intruder soon returned, kicking in the door and making his way inside. That’s when the homeowner responded with gunfire, shooting around six shots at the man.

The unidentified homeowner was not harmed in the exchange.

In January, Andre Lanaux came home around 5 p.m. and found two teenagers robbing his Estate Lane home. He grabbed his gun and fired, hitting a 15-year-old suspect in the leg. The other teen ran away unharmed, but was later arrested for his crime.
