How to help LHHS’ Pina family whose teenage daughter was shot and killed last week

Azeneth Pina is remembered for her fierce loyalty to her family and her dedication to her church. The 14-year-old Lake Highlands High School student was killed last week in an accidental shooting on Whitehurst Drive, when a 16-year-old was playing with a gun.

A GoFundMe account has been set up by her youth pastor Beto Rodriguez to help the family offset funeral costs. As of Monday morning, it had raised nearly $4,000.

The 16-year-old shooter, who police have not identified because of his young age, faces manslaughter charges related to the death.
