Police say after forcing a 67-year-old woman into her apartment at 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Corey Lindale Davis, 18, raped the woman for hours before leaving the area at 11:15 a.m., according to security footage from the complex.
A neighbor found the woman crying on the floor of her apartment in the 9900 block of Whitehurst Drive. She told the Good Samaritan she had been physically and sexually assaulted. Around that same time, an employee at the complex witnessed Davis leaving the area. He called 911 and followed Davis to Forest Lane, staying on the phone with dispatchers the entire time until police arrived on scene.
When Davis was arrested, police say he had some of the victim’s personal belongings in his possession. Police took his DNA to compare with evidence found on the victim, and will also check if he is involved in any other assaults on record. He was booked into jail on charges of aggravated sexual assault.
