UA Galaxy 10 Stadium Theatre in Lake Highlands has applied for a permit to begin selling alcohol, part of a growing trend among U.S. theater owners to woo movie lovers back with expanded food and beverage options. With Netflix closing in on 100 million subscribers and the expansion of streaming platforms and on-demand services, movie watchers have more choices than ever.
Regal Cinemas, owner of UA Galaxy, has also replaced outdated seating with roomy, push-button recliners – another industry trend.
It’s not clear when the UA Galaxy alcohol permit might be approved. UA Galaxy is located at 11801 McCree off LBJ.
