Neighborhood eateries are lining up to participate in the first annual Lake Highlands Restaurant Week – the brainchild of the Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce. From April 24-30th, LH families are encouraged to patronize the restaurants taking part, but the idea involves more than that. When you have a business meeting, PTA gathering, HOA session, civic group meeting, church group gathering or other event, says the LH Chamber, support these local businesses by gathering at their place. In return, a portion of all proceeds generated that week will go back to several area non-profits and bring awareness to those groups to neighborhood residents who may jump onboard by donating or volunteering.
Everyone wins, right?
Participating restaurants, so far, include: Lake Highlands Creamery, Chubby’s Family Restaurant, Neighbor’s Casual Kitchen, Resident Taqueria, Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha Lake Highlands, Slim Chickens, Top Golf, El Fenix, One 90 Smoked Meats, Lake House, Picasso’s and Mi Cocina. If your eatery wants to take part, you may email the Chamber at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’d like to help promote the event, you can add your gathering to the Lake Highlands Restaurant Week Facebook page, as the Wallace Class of 2027 Parents did when they planned their get together at LH Creamery, and/or you can tweet news and/or pics @lh_chamber or Instagram at lhchamber1. Or, if you’re feeling social that week, simply show up at one of the participating restaurants, where you are likely to find LH folks you know having a delicious meal. See you there!
