Parents of New Year’s Day murder victim, along with Crime Stoppers, offer $10,000 reward for tips

Christian Dawson, victim

On January 1, we started 2017 off with the sad news that yet another young man had lost his life in an area that borders Lake Highlands, Skillman Commons along Skillman near I-635.

Christian Dawson, 19 and a sophomore at Langston University, was visiting his hometown over winter break. He ostensibly was caught in the crossfire when a gunfight broke out in the parking lot at the Azure venue.

Several were injured, he was the only person killed.

Dawson’s parents both work for a company called PQ Systems. The outfit has offered a $5,000 reward for tips resulting in an arrest and indictment of whomever shot Dawson. That is in addition to the $5,000 already offered by Crime Stoppers for the same.

Tipsters are advised to call North Texas Crime Stoppers at 877.373.TIPS.
