The iconic hamburger joint has banned motorcycles.

“We went back to an old policy,” a manager who answered the phone Friday said.

She hung up before we could ask another question. On the second phone call, she said, “You’ll have to ask the Kellers about that,” before declining to take a message for the restaurant’s owners and hanging up again.

Members of the Dallas motorcycling community have guessed that the ban could have been prompted by problems with rowdy motorcycle groups or that the restaurant’s insurance won’t allow unenclosed vehicles.

Lake Highlands resident Colin Clarke says he’s also been told that the restaurant declines to serve anyone on a bicycle or on foot.
