Updated Monday evening: Police Monday morning arrested 33-year-old Antonio Townsley in connection with the killing of Shamille Pinkney, 18, and attack on her mother Susan Pinkney. The elder Pinkney is in stable condition at Presbyterian Hospital on Upper Greenville Avenue. Suspect Townsley told police Susan Pinkney is his wife, that she started an argument over contents of his cell phone and then attacked him with a knife. He reported that the daughter also attacked him and that he stabbed both women in self defense, according to court documents. He is held in Dallas County Jail on a $150,000 bond. Townsley has a lengthy rap sheet in Dallas County, including charges of theft, possession of controlled substance, check forgery, unauthorized use of motorized vehicle, and aggravated robbery.

Police who responded at 1:30 Monday morning to a stabbing call at the Madison Apartments, 12800 Jupiter, just outside Lake Highlands, entered a bloody scene — two women stabbed, both rushed to the hospital, one, an 18 year old, pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the elder, her mother, reportedly remains in poor condition.

Police have apprehended a suspect, who they say is an acquaintance of the mother.

None of the victims or suspect have been identified as of 10 a.m., but we will keep you posted as we learn more.

This apartment row, along Jupiter near I-635, was the location last year of a couple of violent attacks on women.
