At a playground on Stone River at Lemmonwood Friday afternoon a man reportedly attempted to grab a small child who was accompanied by a nanny, according to a newsletter from the Tri-Alliance Security Patrol, which monitors Highlands West, Pebble Creek and Rolling Trails neighborhoods of Lake Highlands.

“Just as it was getting dusky, there was an attempted child abduction by a tall black male wearing jeans and a brown jacket,” reads the alert. “He tried to place himself between the child and her nanny, who reacted swiftly by grabbing the baby and running to the houses across the street.”
The suspect left the scene in a small silver two-door sedan, possibly a Nissan.
Police are investigating the incident, and we will report back with more information as we learn it.
