Voting at Audelia Creek Elementary in Lake Highlands, north of I-635

Using District 10 as the boundary, the majority of our neighborhood leaned Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s presidential election, though significant swaths of Lake Highlands voted for Donald Trump more than most other parts of Dallas County, aside from Park Cities and sections of North Dallas; overall Dallasites voted 62 percent Clinton and 36 percent Trump.

How Dallas voted, presidential election

In the Lake Highlands/D10, north of I-635 every precinct went to Clinton, but Lake Highlands inside the loop was split, with 10 precincts going to Trump and 10 to Clinton (nine and a half, actually, because only half of precinct 1045 falls in D10).

Below is basically what amounts to my notes-to-self as I figured this out, comparing the results maps (where you will find better, interactive data for everything you could possibly want to know about the election and more) to the Dallas City Council districts map. The hearts represent Clinton majorities and lightening bolts represent Trump wins. The red line down the middle of D10 is I-635.

The aforementioned site also includes outcomes for local races.

You can see, for example, how Rep. Linda Koop held her District 102 State Representative post against Dem. Laura Irvin, or how incumbent Kenneth Sheets narrowly lost to Dem. Victoria Neave in State District 107.

Trump won the presidency with 279 electoral votes over Clinton’s 228 (though the popular vote at last count was for Clinton—60,122,876 to 59,821,874).
