A $125-million Medical City Dallas Women’s Hospital is in the works, and it seems to be as much of a spa or hotel as it is a women’s health care facility.

The women’s hospital will be a five-floor addition on top of Medical City Dallas’ Care Tower D, located at Forest Lane and Central Expressway. It will include 222 private patient rooms and 12 VIP suites with a bedroom for mothers, a room for families staying overnight and a spa-like bathroom. According to the hospital’s news release, the suites offer “concierge amenities such as upgraded linens, chef-prepared meals, family meal options and spectacular views of the city.”

Twenty-four labor and delivery rooms, 84 neonatal intensive care unit rooms and 27 medical/surgical rooms, among other upgrades, also are part of the expansion. (This Medical City Dallas video gives viewers a glimpse into what the facility will look like.)

The women’s hospital is slated to open in March 2018, and additional patient rooms are scheduled to open the following month.
