“We lost everything but the clothes on our backs,” notes one mother who lived in the affected condos on the Skyview Elementary School Facebook page.

Members of the PTA at Skyview, where many of the young fire victims attend school, are collecting donations throughout the week and weekend for the impacted families.

“Friends, most of you already know there was a tragic fire that struck the Fair Oaks Creek apartments this afternoon,” note members of the Skyview Elementary School and PTA. “Some households sustained water and smoke damage while others lost everything. We want to come around our Skyview families during this time to support and help them rebuild their lives. We will communicate needs as we continue to assess the impact.”

Skyview Elementary, located at 9229 Meadowknoll Drive, will accept donations from the greater community on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. The following is a list of the most urgently needed items:

Boys sizes 4/5 and 6/7 clothing
Women’s XL and Size 15 pants
Men’s 3XL shirts
Men’s 44/32 pants
Men’s XL shorts
Games, books or puzzles for a kindergarten-age child
Walmart or restaurant gift cards
Notes of encouragement/support

No one was seriously injured in the fire.
