Forest Park Medical Center Dallas opened in 2009 with much fanfare, one of five “every-luxury-provided” hospitals to be owned by Texas doctors. By 2015, the Dallas and San Antonio hospital were closed and the Frisco, Fort Worth and Southlake facilities were in bankruptcy or had defaulted on loans.

“In order to meet the needs of our growing North Texas community, Medical City Dallas Hospital continues to expand clinical services for both adults and children,” wrote Erol Akdamar, HCA North Texas Division President on HCA’s website. “The addition of this property will add needed capacity and allow us to proactively plan for the continued growth of the exceptional complement of services we provide.”

The purchase includes two hospital towers, a parking garage and 4 acres of land adjacent to the facility. The hospital has 84 beds, 22 operating suites and 16 ICU rooms.
