Police have identified a suspect in a rape that occurred Feb. 8 in a Lake Highlands apartment.

Just after the woman entered her condo, located near the Lake Highlands LA Fitness/Mi Cocina shopping center, a masked, Black male dressed in a dark hoodie, wearing gloves and brandishing a weapon sexually attacked her and stole her valuables and car, a grey 2006 Lexus.

Police tracked down surveillance footage of a man using the victim’s credit card at a convenience store. Upon releasing the footage to the public, police received tips that helped them ID the man as Samuel Jamall White, 28, for whom they immediately obtained an arrest warrant. Police say they have employed the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (FAST) to apprehend White.

“We also are asking for the public’s help us find him,” information officers say.

Anyone with information about White’s whereabouts should contact Crimestoppers, which will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to arrest and indictment—214.373.TIPS (8477).

Detectives say they have reason to believe White might have committed an aggravated sex assault on Sept. 27 at the Walnut Hill DART rail station as well as a Dec. 16 burglary of a habitation a couple miles away on Park Lane. If you’ve been following crime news, you’ll notice White’s MO sounds strikingly familiar to that of a man who attacked two women just east of Lake Highlands last Friday. In those events, which police do believe are connected, the victims were attacked in parking lots and were able to escape. Police have yet to say White is suspected in those cases.

You might recall that the U.S. Marshal’s FAST was the group to quickly catch Zoe Hastings killer last October.
