1 If your kid wants to perform for big Wildcat crowds, he or she will have a chance this month to feel the love of adoring crowds. The Lake Highlands High School varsity and JV cheerleaders will be hosting clinics to teach kids as young as 5-years-old, and the students will become the stars in performances at Wildcat basketball games. The cheer clinic is open to K through 8th grade girls and will be held Saturday at LHHS. Check-in begins at 12:30 p.m. and the clinic runs from 1-4, with a “parent show-off” during the last 15 minutes. Girls will learn jumps, technique, chants and dances and should wear shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes. The cost is $40 and registration is online here. Girls will perform in the Feb. 5 game against North Mesquite. —Carol Toler
