Hoover, who hosted the event Nov. 14, says she’s delighted to be settled into her beautiful new space before the busy holiday season begins.

“It’s a hairdresser’s dream. After being in the business for over 25 years, we have learned what works and what doesn’t. We invested in what we know is important, such as lighting and the shampoo area. There is so much to see, with the concrete pillars, steel beams, scissor wall and BoHo Room. The guests just ooh and ahh.”

The studio was formerly located near Walgreen’s at Abrams and Royal. The new shop is on the ground floor of The Haven, 7077 Watercrest Parkway, Suite 100.

“Cypress has been amazing to work with,” continues Hoover, “and I think they are very happy with how it turned out. [Managing Director] Bill Rafkin says it is ‘SoHo’ cool.”

The opening party was catered by Neighbors Casual Kitchen and included door prizes and a drawing for a $500 gift card. State Rep. Jason Villalba and Dallas City Councilman Adam McGough praised Hoover’s small business before the assembled crowd, then participated in a ribbon cutting hosted by the Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce.

Artistik Edge is open Tuesday-Saturday.
