Crisp Salad Company

Crisp Salad Company

The newest version of Crisp Salad Company isn’t technically in Lake Highlands, but it’s closer than the original location. The bright restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto the grassy courtyard and fountains at the Shops at Park Lane has been open about two weeks and was founded by Lake Highlands High School grad John Zimmerman. Mapquest.com calls it a 7-minute, 4 mile drive from LHHS, versus the 13-minute, 7 mile drive to their Lowest Greenville spot.

At Crisp, you can choose your own ingredients from a wide array of greens and extras (choices like crimini mushrooms, house-pickled jalapenos, tea-infused raisins, local cotija cheese and edamame are just a few of more than 70 examples) or you may select one of their gourmet salads, with components designed to go together.

All salads can also be made as a wrap or a flatbread. Optional sides include soup, artisan bread and cupcake minis. They also offer a chicken strip kids’ meal with celery and carrot sticks.

“They have delivery service, as well,” reminds proud mama Stephanie.

“She’s our biggest cheerleader,” Crisp staff tell me. “She sends her Lake Highlands friends in here all the time.”

Crisp is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The new shop is located at 8018 Park Lane, Suite 105, and the original location is at 2020 Greenville Avenue.
