Back in 2013 we got to know young Kameron Badgers, a remarkable performer attending Wallace Elementary at the time, and one of his juggling and clowning coaches Nic Rainone, who also is a pretty remarkable fellow who turned into his own spin-off story. The above video is from Kameron’s most recent performance, at last weekend’s Lone Star Circus Cha Cha Cha. As you can see, he is fabulous and popular and loved by many, and ohhh! he’s growing up so fast.

We’ve been able to follow Kameron on his blog, here, and his grandfather Fred Holland also sends us occasional updates.

Kameron went through some rough patches last year around this time.

He wrote last May about being bullied at school. He also wrote on his blog about Wallace Elementary School’s refusal to allow him to perform his knife- juggling act at the annual school talent show because, well, “knives are prohibited weapons,” as one adamant PTA mom put it in an email to Kameron’s guardians. (Kameron insists that they are props, not weapons, but he did not push the matter or turn it into an unnecessary battle. He just performed a different act.)

Today Kameron attends Richardson’s West Arts and Technology Magnet, and he says he hasn’t had any issues with bullies there.

You might have seen him recently on the WFAA morning show, in their segment about the Lone Star Circus camp and school. The circus camp starts up next month. More on that: here. (See our video at the Lone Star Circus below.)

Kameron was supposed to appear in an upcoming TV series, his grandmother tells us, but had to cancel when Richardson ISD moved back exam dates, which now conflict with the filming of said series.
