Founded by two young Richardson/northeast Dallas residents Shanil Wazirali and Sagar Hemani, the online store offers relatively affordable bundles of dorm essentials.

Packages range from $175-$299 and include items such as complete bedding sets; bath accessories and toiletries; organizing bins, hangers and the like; dining items, trash cans, lamps, fans speakers and office supplies in custom colors.

Orders are delivered free of charge to home (over the summer) or the dorm (in the fall).

This week’s Richardson ISD newsletter included a discount code for graduating seniors, good for $10 off any order: DALLAS10 (presumably, anyone else who knows it can use it too).

Wazirali and Hemani founded Dormitup.com following their own experience shopping for college dorm gear.

“Our parents spent nearly $700 during the process, not to mention a countless amount of time, energy and unneeded stress. We never forgot this nerve-wracking experience and were convinced that there had to be a better way, “ Wazirali notes.

The company has received both local and national press, and they strive to sell some 20,000 packages a year, they told the Morning News.
