Thursday, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Katherine Boo spent three years in Annawadi, a Mumbai slum, to write her book, “Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity,” which won the National Book Award in 2012. Direct them to this event from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the parking lot at Whitehurst and Skillman (near The New Room). If you’d like to help, you can volunteer via Signup Genius or simply show up and get to work. If you’d like to make a donation, click here and your contribution will purchase diapers or other necessities for a Lake Highlands’ little ones.
