Nykerion Nealon, 17, was arrested early Friday.
Dallas police today arrested Nykerion Nealon for the murder of Ahmed Al-Jumaili, which we recently reported, Dallas Police Maj. Jeff Cotner says.
After media attention and the announcement of a reward, a witness on March 10 went to the police and provided detectives with a nickname, Kaca, which led police to Nealon.
Surveillance video that helped police identify Nealon and the weapon possibly used in the crime was provided by Audelia Creek Elementary School.
Police interviewed Nealon and, last night, searched his apartment and found an unfired rifle cartridge that matched casings at the scene of Al-Jumaili’s killing. Nealon is a 17-year-old black male. There were others with the suspect, as shown in the videos. We will continue to report new developments.
