A recent immigrant to America was shot outside his Richland College-area apartment just after midnight Thursday, police say, according to a Dallas Morning News report. Police say he was outside with his family and that they were taking pictures of the snow that fell earlier that night. They are investigating it as a possible hate crime.

Dallas Police have released images of a man they hope to question in connection with a January sexual assault that occurred near Whitehurst and Greenville in the Lake Highlands area on Jan.5., according to the police blog:

The pictured person of interest in this offense is described as a Black male with gold teeth. He is believed to be driving a red/maroon 1998-2004 model Mercury Grand Marquis with a possible partial license plate of CW or GW with a tan interior.  If you have any information regarding the vehicle or the person of interest, please contact Crime stoppers at 214-373-TIPS (8477). Several months after our area was hit with Ebola — the mania surrounding it being more widespread than the actual illness, which killed one person and sickened two nurses — Presbyterian Hospital is facing a lawsuit from one of the nurses, White Rock area resident Nina Pham.
