Richardson ISD’s student population is expected to grow, albeit moderately, according to a demographic report delivered to the Board of Trustees. The study interestingly shows specific effects of new residential development such as Lake Highlands Town Center (200 apartments so far), The Bordeaux at Lake Highlands (37 single family homes at Skillman and Walnut Hill) and Villas of Lake Highlands (80 single family at Plano and Northwest) on the schools they serve. Texas economy continues to out-perform the nation with strong job growth.
Future growth will be driven by single family regeneration and new multi-family developments.
District in position to see 484 additional students fall 2015.
Largest two classes continue to be Kindergarten and 1st grades.
Richardson ISD could see an additional 2,729 students duringthe next 5 years. (Total Enrollment 2019/20 = 41,348 students)
